Moon Sweepers Depots: Placement and Dust Delivery
Quick answer
The game's deposit points are the four fixed stations: North, East, West and South. At any station, hold E or F at the deposit intake to fill its tray, then press the tray's button to launch the load and get paid. A belt into a station's intake sells its cargo automatically as it arrives.
Naming
Depot or station?
Steam's achievement text calls the destination a depot. The 1.0.4 game and its Field Manual call the four fixed destinations stations. The four are North Station, East Station, West Station and South Station; the player starts at North. The Collector is the base building with the supply wall, launcher and upgrade hologram.
There is no placeable build-menu piece named Depot in the current data. The nearest portable drop-off is the Packager, a $100 Logistics machine that packs carried dust into capsules on a belt. This matters when you read older advice about “placing depots near the work.”

- 01
Fill your tool
Sweep until the container gauge is full. The starting Toothbrush holds 0.5 kg; a Household Broom holds 3 kg; the largest hand tool starts at 12 kg.
- 02
Walk to a station intake
North Station is the starting point. The compass marks the other stations as DUST STATION. Bring the tool to the deposit intake rather than the supply wall.
- 03
Hold to fill the tray
Hold E or F at the intake. The tray fills from the tool's container. You can stop at any time; the tray holds what was transferred.
- 04
Press the button
The station launches the tray's cargo and pays the crew wallet. The first deposit unlocks the Dust Delivery achievement.
- 05
Check the payout
Dust pays $1 per kg times the payout multiplier. Sand pays 3x and moon stone 7x. If the wallet does not change, check that the launch button was pressed and that the load was not left in the tool.
Belt delivery
Automatic sale by belt
A belt that ends at a station's intake sells its cargo as it arrives. The station launches what it holds, so you do not need to stand there and press a button for every capsule. This is how a Packager, pressure chamber or robot line turns into money.
| Input | What happens | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Tool at deposit intake | Tray fills; press the button to launch and pay. | The tray must contain the load and the button must be pressed. |
| Belt into station intake | Cargo sells as it arrives. | Belt direction, station intake, blocked cargo. |
| Capsule Catcher with no output belt | Dust goes to the station and pays automatically. | Catcher not full; no output belt stealing the dust. |
| Capsule Catcher with an output belt | 1 kg capsules leave; sell them at a station or process them. | Belt can carry 88 capsules per minute. |
| Packager with a belt to a station | Hand-loaded dust becomes 1 kg capsules and sells on arrival. | Packager hopper has dust; output belt is connected. |
The station uses one wallet for the crew. In co-op, money is shared, while tools and vehicles belong to individual players. The multiplayer guide lists the rest of the shared/owned split.
Limits
Placement, relocation and contents
The four stations are fixed world locations. You cannot build a replacement station at a custom spot in the current build menu. If you want a collection point closer to a dig, use a Packager and a belt, or move your work to a station's area.
Buildings and belts return 75% of their build-menu price when removed. The stations are not yours to demolish. For a Packager or a processing machine, empty its hopper, disconnect the belts and check the removal prompt before confirming. The refund guide has the exact examples.
